ALBANY CONVENTION CENTER AUTHORITY UNVEILS NEW WEBSITE TO INFORM
NEW YORKERS AND HIGHLIGHT PROJECT STATUS
ALBANY, N.Y. – Today, the Albany Convention Center Authority (ACCA) announced the launch of the new website for The New York State Convention Center to be located in downtown Albany. This is a positive and forward step in providing detailed information about the progression of the project, and an important platform for marketing the venue to the convention and meeting industry.
The site, www.accany.com, was designed in collaboration with L&P Media, the ACCA and Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
“We’ve worked to make sure that any and all information about the convention center is current and transparent,” said ACCA board chairman, Gavin Donohue. “We are very pleased to be able to showcase and share this information with all New Yorkers about important stages of this project.”
The comprehensive website includes several informative features, such as sections for:
-
Event Planning Information
- Business & Employment Opportunities
- Design & Construction Teams
- Site Drawings, Floor Plans & Renderings
- Press Releases & Other News
- Project Schedule
- Project Photos
- Calendar of Upcoming Events
- Information about the ACCA
- Real-Time Webcam (to be live during the construction phase)
“The launch of this website is an exciting time as it includes information needed for meeting and convention planners that traditionally book a year or two in advance,” said Michele L. Vennard, president and CEO, Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The site also includes destination information about Albany, as well as several links to other visitor-related sites. This will surely help New York State, and our Capital city, capture much more of the tourist and convention business that is currently going elsewhere.”
The proposed Convention Center will offer 60,000 square-feet of exhibition space, 25,000 square-feet of multi-purpose/ballroom space, a 10,000 square-foot junior ballroom, and 22,500 square-feet of meeting space.
ABOUT THE ACCA:
The Albany Convention Center Authority was organized in 2006 as a public benefit corporation under the New York State Public Authorities Act. The authority was created to meet an immediate need to institute a comprehensive, coordinated program of convention activities in the City of Albany. The ACCA and its nine member executive board are to provide the City of Albany with the ability to develop, renovate and undertake economic development projects in the historic downtown area to optimize the economic and social activities of the city and its environs.
